YWP's Alumni Advisors 2025-26
MEET OUR ALUMNI ADVISORS
Zinnia Hansen (Yellow Sweater), above, is a poet and essayist from the Pacific Northwest. She will graduate from the University of Washington with degrees in Classics and History in autumn 2025. Zinnia was the 2021-2022 Seattle Youth Poet Laureate, and is the author of Spikenard, 2022, Poetry NW Editions. She is a staff writer at the UW Daily where she published a column, Agora, exploring the experience of reading Plato’s dialogues as a modern college student. Her work has been published in various magazines and online publications including Rattle Magazine, Call Center Collective, and Circulo de Poesia. Zinnia joined Young Writers Project when she was a high school student looking for an online writing community. This is her fourth year as a YWP alumni advisor.

Sam Aikman (Love to write) is a fourth-year student of literature at Bard College in Berlin, Germany. She has been involved with YWP since 2017, when she joined the site to share her poetry and connect with other writers of her age. As an alumni advisor, she has created a series of online poetry workshops, climate change challenges for The Tomorrow Project, and writing and art resource pages. Now in her second year as an alumni advisor, Sam is excited to remain part of the YWP community, which largely inspired her to pursue writing as both a passion and a career.

Jadyn Mardy (Treblemaker) is a recent graduate from Tufts University in Boston, double-majoring in Film and Media Studies and Child Development. She joined YWP during high school and quickly embraced the community with poems, supportive comments and Tiny Writes conversations. In her free time, Jadyn is part of a screenwriters group to work on TV and feature scripts with her peers, and she has stepped onto a few film sets to help produce some short films. She's returning as a YWP advisor for her fourth year.

Isabella Daignault-Bailey (idbailey23) is in her first year as a YWP alumni advisor. She is a junior at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, studying Biology and Psychology and minoring in German. Isabella grew up in Vermont and joined YWP in middle school. She credits YWP with nurturing her creativity and publishing her work – “incredible opportunities” that helped her get accepted at her top college choices. Isabella loves poetry, and in her free time, she enjoys reading and writing poetry.

Charlotte Dodds (charvermont) is a junior at University of Vermont's Patrick Leahy Honors College with a double major in English and economics. This is her first year as a YWP alumni advisor. Charlotte says, "I've been involved with Young Writers Project since I was 10 or 11 years old, and the community here has always meant a lot to me. I'm so excited to be an alumni advisor this year and continue working with YWP after my internship over the summer. Keep an eye out for my upcoming reading lists, full of book reviews, which you might have seen over the past few years. Looking forward to everyone's creativity!"
