Another murder on the news
Or just on the socials.
A president being rash
And making dumb decisions.

I can't help but laugh.
So many talk about change
About making a difference.

But does it really matter?

Open your eyes
And see the darkness
Within the rays

Open your ears
And hear the fear
In the gears

Open your nose
Smell the blood
On the rose

And open your mind
Try to be kind

Dreams and Nightmares
What's the difference, really?
Dreams make you live what is not
Nightmares make you relive what is

The unconscious mind
Its what causes this lie
That which binds us
To what we cannot find.

Just because you never see me cry,
Or break 
Or snap
Or fall

It doesn't mean I'm strong
It just means I can hide my pain
Even if I have to lie

Just  because I always seem
To joke around 

What does it mean to be human?
I find myself asking that question a lot recently
I mean, really?

The line used to be clear- human and monster. 
No in-between.
But something changed,
Blurring the line

Nature is a curious thing
But has never been interesting
Why would I be interested
In something I don't like?

Or even my own "home"
My own family annoys me
Just by talking to me.

But the darkness...
Yes, I fear it.
