Another offering to the fall

We walk, side-by-side

Don’t these rides seem smaller now?

Or have we just grown in size?

What if this is the end?

smart 

athletic 

shorter than me though 

i've known him awhile 

since third grade when i​ came to our small school 

I've been buried for so long. 

By dead leaves, snow, and the weight of winter's thick, cold air. 

All of it holding me down. 

For months I stayed stagnant. 

Unable to move. 

Snow is melting out on the yard

Green grass shows itself to tired eyes

The winter was so long and hard

'Till your warm green powers started to pry.

Some where there is a child jumping in new puddles,

playing in the soft mud of the Earth,

full of joy.

Some where a child picks springs new dandelions,

blowing on the fluffy seeds to make wishes.

The promise of spring.

Rain.

Flower buds.

Light breezes.

Green leaves.

Melting snow.

Saplings.

Hope too.

That most of all.
