I wake up today to a grey sort of feeling, like dawn, but mixed with bits of lint and dust. I keep having nightmares, every time I dare to close my eyes, but I must keep moving. 

I am so tired.

I chose to lose you,

to lose the love you gave me.

I had to leave you.

I didn’t mean to

let our relationship die.

I couldn’t take it.

Our love looked perfect,

People brush past me

Clouds shift across the sky

The sun inches down

The sky turns warm

I hear people

Yelling,

Laughing,

we're so close. 

I am wrapped in the touch of another 

suspended in a state of contentment

and soft safety. 

the lights in my room are warm

and in the mirror 

One morning

I woke up,

With the stars shining in my face

Amidst the gentle midnight blue sky.

No sun to greet me, 

No moon to comfort me.

Once upon a lonely time 

The moon fell in love with the sun 

And so you see they were lovers 

Once when they were young
