What if I never find it?

What if all of this is for nothing?

I've been hurt by caring before.

It's easier not to...but it's been a freedom for me.

I don't want to give that up.

I want to take the next step.

Here you lie,

Upon the grass,

Clover disguising your fragile body.

Far away from your nest and kin,

How did you get here?

Ruining your innocence

Ruining mine

Comes the wheel - 

A girl

In the elementary school

Had to walk around

In an old grey T shirt

Way to big for her

Because

A sliver of skin

Not much thicker than my thumb

Was showing

And the teachers

Give me your tired, your poor, we say.

                            We will return them overworked and underpaid. 

What used to be my everything 

has now turned into what feels almost like a burden. 

in space, the atoms found their mark

somewhere far from everybody's heart

from then on, on a purge to the deep end

you persist, someone told you the answer

lies under 6 feet of sea sand.
