I slip out into the night, the moonlight making shadows creep along the lawn. The scraggly tree in our front yard reminds me of the monsters in one of my mother's stories.

Winter Has Come

I wake up
Dreams still fresh
On my mind

I dash
To the frosty window
And let my shoulders slump

The thinnest layer
Of flakey, dry snow
Clings to the brown grass

No snow, no winter

I Live Among

I live among friends
among family
among peace

I live among happiness
among joy
among exitment

I live among a crackling fire
among a woods out back to explore
among the smells of delicous food
