blue is that perfect summer day
you know the one with warm sun and a slight breeze 
blue is the ocean, pulling and pushing at the shore,
tempting you to jump in and get carried away from all your problems 

god damn you 
with your perfect smile
and large innocent eyes 
your lustrous hair
and your lightly glossed lips 
you are beautiful 
so beautiful it hurts 
but you don't know 

I know no shoes, 
my feet are free.
I run barefoot
through tall grass
across hard asphalt 
along sandy beaches
and I hop from rock to rock as nimbly a gazelle 
all without shoes
the times I wear them 

words flow like water
sometimes they freeze 
stopping mid sentence
and sometimes they boil
bubbling and stuttering

your wings are broken 
so are mine
you run and jump and try to fly
while I just lay here and stare at the sky 
the weather will change and down will pour the rain
but I don't care 
I'm too tired to complain

Thomas and I were walking to class, defense against the dark arts. That day seemed just like any other at hogwarts, little did we know our lives were about to change forever.
