Birds chirp and titter their good nights in the trees 
As I lay my tired body down on the blessing of my bed
Rest my weary head on my pillow of comfort 
And pull my silky sheets to my chin 

time and time again
I've sat in the same spot 
recived the same talking to 
and ignored the same words
it's probably why I keep getting the same talking to 
because every time I ignore it,

I look back through the trees
at the world I love so dearly 
that I may never see again
inhaling through my nose 
I embrace the smell of the woods
loamy and rich 
the smell of living things
