Perfection starts with a good amount of sleep 

Where the drowsiness in my eyes don’t make an appearance for the day.

Some movement in the morning that gets the heart racing

Winter is more than just building snowmen outside.

It’s more than frothy cups of hot cocoa with marshmallows floating on top

And red-tip noses from the brisk winds outside.

It creeps up on you

When you never welcomed it in the first place

You have no control as your body trembles for the slightest moment

Shaking at what could have been

What could’ve happened

If one can shapeshift

I’d be a wolf.

Roaming the endless mountains before me

Would be a blessing.

Catching whiffs of the fragrant flowers

While running.

Hearing the wind whistling,

One step, two step.

The wind rippling through your hair.

Leaves scattered everywhere.

Gnarly roots in the ground.

Birds chirping as the only sound.

Three steps, four steps.
