This isn't a "see you in three months"

Because I'm not coming back

This isn't a "goodbye for now"

At least not all the goodbyes are that temporary,

This is a "I'll be back on Alumni day"

When you languidly grazed hands with a Woman, 
had you seen your reflection in Her irises? 
Had you wished you could drown in that yearning black void? 

On a rocky cliff 

where the grass sways in the wind 

and the sky never seems to end, 

there lies a silent house  

where a silent woman lives. 

She does not need to speak; 

I regret not running to you

Yet I regret running to you then but

Now it's behind me

I think of how we talk

Of how we laugh, then 

I pick apart every word

She plays guitar 

She writes songs

She lives not far

And I could stay there all day long

She ties back her hair

And hides her insecurities 

Summer is not my favorite season,

summer is not really my jam,

but as June, July, and August

approach in their usual pack,

I find myself longing for the winding days,

the heat that slowly drives us all crazy,
