You assembled me with great care and patience like a ship in a bottle. You made me a fine coat with matching pants with pockets like yours. The only difference was that I was not in mine.

she crushed flowers beneath her feet as she walked

I wonder every day:

Do you like me?

You look at me sometimes.

I wonder what it could mean.

I wonder if I feel to you what you feel to me.

If I have a daughter, I will name her 

Sylvia.

A big name,

A burgeoning hope.

Sylvia.

The girls drum their fingernails

Lightly

Not like real drumming

More like timid rain.

Their nails extend

Two nail lengths past

School’s great. I *love* waking up early  
to sit through hours of stuff I’ll forget.  
Lunch? A gourmet mystery I’ll never solve.  
Tests? Oh, the thrill of failing with style.
