All You Need is a Raft
I'm bored of this place where nobody leaves
so I sneak out in the night with a plan
I'll take a sheet, some logs, and rope
set out for the river with my cat in tow.
With my raft all secure and my sail erect -
The Wind at my Window
The wind screams outside
A sound full of mourning
I watch intently from bed
The trees toss with warning
I snuggle up close
In my cozy blue nook
The song of the wind
Becoming part of my book -
My Right
Where I live, there has been a lot of fighting
Sending words back and forth we are a country divided
All for a law still in the writing.
Now, through history I have noticed a pattern -
Reader's Dilemma
Don't start reading
We're about to start eating
A delicious dinner for two
With plates piled high
And blueberry pie
What am I supposed to do?
I'm on page away
From them saving the day -
Autumn's Turning
The air is crisp
But I can smell the snow
Leaves swirl underfoot
As cold winds blow
The aching cold
Comes sure and strong
It matches my heart
In melancholy song
I miss the sun
But welcome the moon -
Quarantine
I know what you're thinking,
"It's all overblown"
And you're right to be weary
Of what the media has shown
You're safe you say,
Since what you've been told
Is those who are young
Merely suffer a cold
