She's small
Petite I guess you could say
And even though she's a year and two days older than me
Last year I got taller than her.
She's the violet to my dandelion. 
We're so different
But we clicked
On first sight.

I miss you, self.
I miss the way you had not a care in the world.
I miss how you would jump and sing
You would laugh at the world
You didn't care what people thought.
You had friends
They liked you
You liked them.

When you get to school,
Everyone is wearing their swim suits under their clothes and
There's a smell of excitement in the air. 
Waiting,

When I was walking down the hall,
And life was bright and sunny,
I felt like I was ten feet tall,
With lots and lots of money. 

I skipped across the stream and lawn,
The world a-plenty with flowers,

Walk out
When everything is bright and
The world seems like it could do some good.
Shouts
Sharp pains
Guilt
Bring me inside 
When everything shrinks around me
And goes dark.
