Scarry Night

If only I could reach a little farther,

I would be able to touch the moon.

If only I could reach a little farther,

my dreams would be fulfilled,

so quick,

so soon.

I want to walk on Mars,

You jump this way and that,

making it so that I have to chase you everywhere.

You stare at me with those huge, colorful eyes,

intimidating me,

daring me to make the next move.

We play games day after day,

When I tilt my head back,

and take a peek into the world,

I can see it.

The colors.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, 

and purple.

A line of them, slightly curved at the ends.

What I see in the future is a world.

A world that will never be forgotten,

a world that will never lose its charm,

a world where people live,

a world that will hopefully go unharmed.

A pencil is a tool for writing and drawing.

Simply an object in which it can make marks on paper.

No, it must be more.

Nothing can have that little meaning.

Ah, I see.

Pencils don't just draw,
