Context: There is a tiny mouse in the barn. He used to be a beloved pet to the farmer’s daughter, but she grew up and left. Soon, the mouse was forgotten about, yet each day, he came for a block of cheese, hoping someone would remember.

They didn't say your name at graduation,
there was silence when there should've been you
when we should've been screaming for you

The Weight
How can someone handle all this weight? This never-ending pressure is slowly crushing me. If ever I get a chance to breathe, and stretch my spine, it ends when the weight crashes back down.

Boxed Up
A mind is a storage room full of cardboard.
Boxes of all sizes lined up in perfect rows
There are open ones, ones taped shut
some are empty and being filled
organized and still and quiet

Winter
Winter:
As frosty winds whisper, wrapping us in fear,
In winter's grasp, we gather near.
Underneath the snow-cloaked rooftops
We find warmth in each other.
