darkness and burning

and smoke so thick

clouds of fury

with faces that scowl

and cry and scream

people that bleed

aren't people who weep

but people who weep

are people that bleed

God forbid I become too comfortable in this place

In the sounds and the sights

What I see in you and what I smell on you

What I hear in us and what I fell with you

Why does no one understand

That snakes have feelings too

They bleed

And feel threatened and scared

But everyone is afraid of them

Because of what they can do

And not what they did.

It was a cold Tuesday morning in October. The warm and well light ambiance of the diner with soft chatter in the background of their conversation made it hard for her to accentuate her disdain.

Uninspired to write

To work

To eat

To sleep

To take care of myself

To try

To help

To learn

To create

To clean

To do anything except sit front of a screen.
