Once Had
Missing a version of you,
One I thought I once knew.
I fell in love, and didn’t think twice.
You were the moon to me,
Pulling me in like the sea.
It feels like a twist of fate,

Never a Mistake
I’ve been told that loving someone is never a mistake,
That loving someone who couldn’t wasn’t a waste,
That it shows how emotionally mature I am.
But it feels like my heart has stopped beating,

Longing
Once looked to the stars for answers,
Searching for a way out-
now I’m filled with doubt.
Thought I knew my way,
But was left with dismay.
In the aftermath of it all,
I no longer wait for any call.

Memories Veiled in Ivory
Letting something else fill the void,
With silence as loud as winter.
The words stuck in my mind like a splinter.
I’ll keep my memory attached Polaroids,
Refusing to let go just yet.

Nature’s Comfort
Shifting like the desert sands,
love is always changing.
Time is a rising tide,
not even the moon can subside.
Seasons fading into the next,
Reeling in the unknown,
As fate’s never written in stone.

Losing Someone
Losing someone you love,
hollows out a part of you.
One day, you have them,
and the next,
you’ll never see them again.
The realization stings,
worse than the sun's engulfing hug.

From the Caves of the Sky
Mist still lingers,
Weighting the world,
Each droplet, each dewdrop,
Catching in the sun,
Refracting each ray,
But not quite like the sky,
-
I, the minotaur
here I sit-
bathed in darkness
trapped beyond reach of the sunI do not touch the poor creatures they cast into my darkness
flesh does not satiate me
so I chew on my rage -
Autumn Arriving
Autumn! She's here at last, sweeping about the earth in a whirlwind of color.
Now turn the days to cool, and the nights to cold! -
Drive
Take me on a drive
I'll roll the window down
stick out my hand
let it
soar through the air
fly on the speed
fly on the wind.
Take me on a drive
I'll paint a sketchbook full

Ember
From a mere ember
the amber ignites
From a mere gust
The speckles of amber spread
From a mere kindleThe flock of amber glows
From a mere day
