As I swim down to the sea shore,
I saw a crab selling seashells.
I waved my tentacles and shouted:
“Oy Mate! Give me a seashell!”
The crab sneered, “you octopus, be gone!”
I hear your concerns,
feel your pain, your joy, your laughter.
I know your doubts, what keeps you up at night.
But I will not change for you.
If I was an octopus and was able to change what I look like at will, I think that it would be very strange. Even though it would feel strange, it would feel normal at the same time.
it's dark.
you wouldn’t know that if you looked at me,
of course
you wouldn’t even know i’m there
transparent, lucid,
Octopuses have three hearts. I’ve been told that I do too. Is it the way I look at you or the way I listen? Is it how I place my hand on your shoulder or how I smile?
i hear
your words, your insults, your mocking
i heard it when you called me stupid, special
as if i had no ears
i see
how you look at me, how you judge me
