Tiny Writes
What is too much? That is something I ask myself daily, am I too much? Do people think of me as crazy or that I'm hurting. There is nothing wrong with me. I just share my emotions. I share my thoughts. Recently I was told that my poem, Writing With A Knife is too intense. I don't think it is. I was told that it was so I just wanna let everyone know that it is not literal, I like to have a metaphor and give it not just a line but a whole poem hence my poem, Writing with a knife.

Hey, friend! This is such a late response, and I hope this can provide any solace to this question despite the tardiness. Poems can be intense, and if you want to write an "intense" poem then feel free! Some of my favorite poems I've read and written have a sharper tone. However, when I have written things that can seem a little worrisome to others, I still acknowledge the same as you with it not being literal. Sometimes, people read poems and automatically associate the writing with the authors direct emotions and intentions in the poem, but that is not always the case. It is also a small reminder that people do care about you, and that can be sweet in its own way. I understand your point of view completely, and don't feel discouraged from writing these types of poems because of their comments. Just reassure them that it's a separate entity than your own life, a character in a way. I hope this helps and that your holiday is going great!
