abandoned

red kayak

alone

drifting with the gentle breeze

in the middle of the lake

water droplets

beads

of shining glass

                             shatter

in the afternoon sun,

drip

into the water

ripple ripple ripple ripple

breathe their life out in never-ending circles

surface like a mirror

reflecting bouncing the bad thoughts

away

but what lurks under the surface?

does it know

care understand

as it drifts with the gentle breeze

in the middle of the lake

alone

red kayak
