I think that there
will always be
a before
and after.

before the pandemic
we were happy
oblivious
and safe

before the pandemic
going to the store
was something I could do
now I can't

before the pandemic
smiles were around us
and we didn't cross
to the other side of the street.

after the pandemic
I hope that
the world doesn't feel as
empty

after the pandemic
I think that
while the loss will be felt
we will be happier

after the pandemic
I think the world will be better
because the pandemic
brought the best out of us

during the pandemic?
the world is different
and feels 
lost
but we will come out stronger.
