Today,
I told my dad about something I made.
I told him it was the second best in my class.
And I was proud of it.
But he said to put in more effort.
Well, there's only so much that can be done in two hours.
The day before,
I tried out for the solo in choir.
He said that it would never be perfect.
The week before,
I was playing baseball with my brother.
My dad said that my brother hit the ball harder,
Even when mine went several yards farther.
I was always second best to somebody.
You compared me to a"beautiful flower."
I don't think I'm beautiful.
Especially not like the pink flower you said I was.
I'd say I'm more like a notebook,
there, but not noticed.
Why do people say that?
How do people say that?
They say it as if it's all a joke,
and maybe to them it is,
but to the people being bullied it's not,
it never was,
and it never will be.
Is it really?
Is writing just a waste of my time,
and a waste of time for others to read?
Is writing this here now,
is it really useless?
According to some people it is.
