I wake up this morning. I can hear my dad’s voice calling me and my brother’s name to do a task that I always dread. Maybe today might be different? Nonetheless, I get ready and open my dreaded container of the The angler fish. The angler fish glows its light into my eyes. Like its hypnotized prey, I am forced to stare, my fingers dancing on the pad to the light. I stare, hoping for a chance to break free. When can I break away from this curse? I hear the distant speech of my mom in her cave, talking to her many angler fish. So this one starts… As her voice drowns in the distance.
The sound of the work being done to beautify the green place. Beep! Beep! Beep! But here I am, chained to my angler fish. After I am released from my confinement. The spell it cast on me ensues, and I approach my angler fish yet again. And I further am hypnotized by its glow, instead of being in the green place, where the air is fresh and I always feel lively and warm. I look out, watch the simplicity of the green place. When was the last time I was purified? When will I see the green place again? But until then, the sun goes down and I head to bed, to greet my angler fish again in the morning.
