L.A., the golden city of dreams, where singers and actors come to achieve
L.A., the catwalk of fashion and style, all advertised with a Cheshire cat smile
Wonderland was not as it suggested
Behind the scenes things broke at the seams, all because of who Alice trusted
The Queen of Hearts played her hand
Her cards were vowed a promised land
The spades were overtaken by heat
The clubs could not make enough even to eat
The hearts were crushed with payment unspoken
The diamonds bejeweled clothes and shoes until their fingers were broken
And Alice stood idly by, drank the potion, ate the pie
Wore the clothes without a care, not for who, or what, or where
When Alice learned what was behind the crown
She began another spiral down
Down through the looking glass
A hidden present, a wicked past
Why the hatter went mad, she soon would learn
Because he saw innocent girls burn
A hundred years later, it’s nearly the same
The cards working to survive, the Queen playing a game
Bugs and illness riddled the palace
And in walked horrified Alice
‘They promised Forever, but it lasted a day’
She cried
‘With the money you make, where will you stay?’
The cards shrugged, for though they made luxury
Their lives were not changed by her discovery
Alice turned to the White Rabbit, tears in her eyes
‘We must let others know, they purchase lies’
Now though everyone in Wonderland is mad
Everyone put together all that they had
The palace of Hearts went down in flames, the Queen defeated
From the ashes the the hardworking cards retreated
L.A., the city with a filthy underground
L.A., a Wonderland that will not change if we do not make a sound

Woah, what an incredibly seamless way to weave a fairytale into a social justice issue that needs to be brought to light -- one I fear I'm not well-informed on. I assume you're speaking about dangerous sweatshops in the garment industry, right? I didn't know that was still a modern problem in America (overseas, yes, but not in L.A.). This has piqued my interest so wildly that I'm going to pause what I'm doing in a few minutes to do some research into this!
Yeah, this is about the L.A. garment workers! Thank you so much
