coexistence

aqua waters, lush green forests, city lights aglow

i feel like a little kid, wide eyes, wide smile

world’s too big to wrap my mind around just yet, and

the distance across the lake seems infinite

but makes the homes over yonder become specks,

alike. so when you shift your eyes to

the bitter waters, the facile neighborhood,

the sepia, candid-worth countryside,

the aquamarine planet,

and you lay back on the paddle board,

letting the ripples catch your hair afloat,

it’s a clear night. you can see the Milky Way,

milky as ever, surrounded by indigo ink.

that’s us.

the earth’s one of a million, so tiny, yet too big to comprehend.

these notions, however different they may be,

however sky to ocean, black to white, night to day they are

they coexist in peace on this earth,

so unimaginably big, so small as it blends into the dusty milky way

night and night again.

  • fragile foundation

    every twist of inadequacy's blade

(each one worse than the previous)

fell in a rhythmic order, one that your silence

carried in. did you hate me?

you'd never say so. so blindly, i never changed.

  • sunday nights

    sunday nights are my own.

old music in the corners of my mind

pen scratches on paper, ten thousand poems

    two hundred and seventy-two

    little golden lights, 4 walls

    that mirror my soul.
