renewal (rough draft)

in space, the atoms found their mark

somewhere far from everybody's heart

from then on, on a purge to the deep end

you persist, someone told you the answer

lies under 6 feet of sea sand.

I asked you if you found it

in the breath or in the sky. Find,

the rise and fall of love and loss,

till what really is there to gain?

is this all you are?

a peasant to your habits,

succumbing to your ignorance

is this all i am? a fragment of nature,

a fossil of youth and its curiosity

they told you we're too young to be relics,

and you asked when the time will be too late.

they couldn't answer

i couldn't answer, so you'll only wait, anticipate

the taste of joy's renewal. life's resurfacing.

i wish i could tell you to stop waiting.

soon, it will dance on your tongue

if you let it.

  • fragile foundation

    every twist of inadequacy's blade

(each one worse than the previous)

fell in a rhythmic order, one that your silence

carried in. did you hate me?

you'd never say so. so blindly, i never changed.

  • sunday nights

    sunday nights are my own.

old music in the corners of my mind

pen scratches on paper, ten thousand poems

    two hundred and seventy-two

    little golden lights, 4 walls

    that mirror my soul.
