The Cosmic Expanse

I have always been fascinated by Space and all it encompasses. I don't know exactly why, maybe because of the unknown and wanting to understand it thus making it known. Or maybe because whenever I look up at the starry night sky I wonder what might be out there. Whatever the reason I love space. I wonder what other planets outside of our solar system might look like to be on, I wonder if we will ever even get there in the first place. I think about how we are but one small planet among millions, billions in our galaxy and our galaxy is but one among millions and quite possible millions more than that. 

I think about all of this, how small we are in comparison to everything else. But that doesn't mean we don't matter. In fact that means we matter more than we think. The fact that we are even here is a miracle in and of itself. And that we are able to understand that idea is another miracle on top of that. 

We live in a cosmic expanse that is ever growing out of our reach. And that's okay. Here on earth there are thousands of beautiful things to experience right here on this pale blue dot.
