Earth
Strong stable land of strength
Reaches high above it all
Born to shake and collapse to the floor
Water
Tides and waves
Use to float with glee
Drags civilians down to the depths
Air
Glides dips swirls flicks
Leafs swim in harmony
House lying waste miles away
Fire
Blazing passion to inspire
Man’s greatest achievement
Burning bones by the millions

I remember that day
I was given as gift
Today I still reside
Right there on your wrist
I remember that day
As I was handed to you
There were tears in your eyes
You prepared to say goodbye
Every time
I try to speak
My voice is trapped
Stuck between reality
And imagination
Between my mind
And my throat
Stuck in a loop
Unable to reach beyond
You blink
Once
Than once again
I can tell
Not much goes on in you head
You move your fins
Back and forth
Never thinking
About anything else
Do you miss the time

WOW! I just realized how you separated each line with different emotions: creation vs. destruction, light vs. dark . . . What a beautiful poetic structure!
