        Louie saw the boy walk up the bayside towards him. Not this little shit again he thought. All Louie wanted was some peace and quiet by the bay, but this kid had to swoop in and disrupt him every damn day.

    Something hard and pointy jabbed my cheek. “Wake up, girl, wake up,” a cool voice said.

*This piece was written for class assignment to write a short piece of fiction based on The Comet by W. E. B. DuBois in which two characters survive the end of the world.*

If the entire world population was being transferred to a space colony I would choose one of two new lifes. My first choice would be to stay on Earth with family and friends that would be willing to live with me.

    By the time I awoke, my clothes had dried and Miles had roasted me two blackbirds and a fish. “We’ll see about that fish,” he said after I’d changed and packed away the meat.

Once upon a time, there was a mystery rumor that had been going on for two years about the Hathaway House. The rumor said that it was haunted, and everyone believed it.

I have debated a lot over what I would do if I had the power to time travel. If I had a life remote, I wouldn't want to drastically change my past or anyone else's.

Here is Chapter 5! I had such a good time writing this chapter because this is the chapter where I had a good idea about what was happening to Kara, because when I write storys I like to come up with the plot when I'm writing.

    I woke to the sight of a small songbird perched in front of my nose. It tweeted at me from where it clung to the edge of my hammock.
