For the first time-in what felt like a long time, I felt like the world was falling before me and I was plummeting to my death, but I knew that was all an illusion; but the world was falling, theoretically at least.

I walked past a crumbling stone wall; it was covered in moss, and acorn shells littered between the rocks showed that squirrels had once been there. The stone wall ended, leaving a gap between where the wall would start up again.
