Fields of Stars (of Women)

I want to see fields

Of girls

Standing tall to the sun,

Their imperfections

Shined upon the brightest,

Their souls sparkling

All around them,

Their cheeks flushed

With hope even fiercer

Than the rising sun;

I’ll watch them

And uncurl my shoulders,

Rise so my thoughts

Cannot be shrouded by clouds,

Breathing in the universe,

My eyes filled with its stars:

The ones

All around me;

With every breath,

I will lift myself to the sky,

Carrying with me the light

I am surrounded by,

Sharing the inspired strength

That lies shattered in my heart,

And as the dawn grows closer,

The shards will meld

Into one;

We will wield ourselves

With the power

Bubbling from our souls,

A fountain that only we

Can harvest from,

And together we will link hands

And step into the rays

Shining upon us,

The rays that will never shine

As bright as we do.
