This fire

If they didn’t last time why

Would they now

If last time the world was on fire

They put it out with water and wrote about it in the news and got themselves quoted

Crying tears and talking about laws that should have been passed

?

Last time the world was on fire

Last time the world was drowning

They talked about laws and the future

And fed words into a slow slow system

And acted like they

Hoped maybe

They did as much as me.

Why will this fire

Be different from the last fire

?
