The Fork in The Road and Our Conversation

I met a fork in the road one day while traveling on a dusty path.
I was at a loss for which way to go.
"I suppose you're going to tell me I must chose the right path uh?"
I said sarcastically
"I need to, like, furfill my destiny and become who I truly am?"
I laughed softly, I was talking to the fork in the road, it could not undersand me.
"Just go left."
said a voice
I jumped.
"Go left."  it said again. it sounded tired.
"Everyone ponders this question!" Continued the voice
"since when did it become a turning point in your life?"
the fork in the road was talking to me?!
I said "because no two roads are the same, and one can take me where i want to go-
the other can lead me astray."
"Heck No!'" cried the fork.
"stop overthinking eveything! you humans, you overwork your brains,
no wonder you have such big heads..."
"Excuse me?!" I said.
"Listen, don't you think you chose this path for a reason?
don't you think something brought you to this very spot?"
"yes but- I have to chose the right path, I can't turn back once I make that comitment!'
The fork snorted.
"what comitment? you chose wrong now- it was probably right in the end.'
I blinked.
It continued.
"you think because there are three directions you will pick the wrong one?
Why- you've obviously been going the right way this entire time, else you'd be somewhere else!
Why doubt your decission right now?"
I blinekd again.
One day I met a fork in the road.
It was small, and shiny,
made of some sturdy material. With 4 prongs.
It lay there on the ground, right in the middle of the path
it glinted up at me.
I looked down at it.
It talked to me
I listend to it.
I picked a path, I was still unsure
But in the end, through all that doubt
the fork knew what it was talking about.

  • A Space Among The Stars

To live in a space among the stars
    I'd have to get binoculars
To see the dentist on the moon
And find the next Uber at noon.
To live in a space among the stars
I'd have to float to school in cars.
  • Frost

    Its fingers were hot
    and cold and
    sweet and dark.
    All at the same time.

    Sleeeeep.

    It whispered in her ear.
    Her petals shivered.
    Its breath ran slowly
    down
    her stem and
    tickled a leaf.
