I bleed in writing

there’s this gaping hole

            in my heart

yet they never noticed I was

                        bleeding.

my heart bleeds

a mess of jumbled-up

     sentences.

they tell me this

            sadness is

temporary

yet I see it in their eyes

            the

concern

as the therapist asks me about the past four years

as my heart bleeds

a mess of jumbled-up

            sentences.

more medication, she says

as if chemicals and logic can cure

emotions

as if a pill can stop the bleeding

my heart bleeds

a mess of jumbled-up

     sentences.

no words

can explain

my pain.

  • Reminders

    There are many moments

    Where I don’t feel

    Deserving

    Of the attention

    Today I’m reminding myself

    Of how far I’ve come,

    All the years I’ve spent

    Living in pain

  • Clinging To Sunshine

I’ve kept every card I’ve ever received

For as long as I can remember

People fade in and out of your life

Eventually lost in the past, forgotten

I read their letters after sunset
