I Can’t Believe We Call This a Democracy

I can’t believe we call this a Democracy.

We voted, sure.

But did we really end up with a president?

Or do we now have a king?

Sure, his term is said to end in four years.

But even if it does, the injuries he’s given our country will never heal.

They will scar, maybe even fester.

And I find it likely that, this man we call our president, will find a way to keep ruling.

To stay a king.

A dictator.

So yeah.

I really, really can’t believe we call this a Democracy.

  • Freedom

Freedom is a concept I think about often.

    A concept I don't really understand.

    Yes, we have it.

But it often feels like we don't.

How am I supposed to see how free I truly am, when I just feel trapped?

  • Experiences

    Experiences.

They're a gift all on their own.

Spending time with friends, laughing and talking about stuff that doesn't even really matter to anyone but us.

Immersing myself in a world of roleplay, where I'm whoever I want.

  • Dopamine

Because of these things called phones, those of us born in the digital world have far too large receptors for dopamine.

    Miniature computers, larger dopamine receptors.

Harder to get content and joy.
