I have something to say

No, you don’t.

But I do though.

I have something to say about real issues and you say that I don’t.

While you all are just spitting what others want to hear.

I so desperately wish to speak my mind.

Women like me are told to keep their mouths shut and let the men do the talking.

What about me?

What if I have something to say?

Why is it that men are always put before women?

Why is it that women have to shut up and listen?

Why don’t men have to?

There’s no good reason as to why I can’t speak the things I wish to voice.

No you don’t.

This one phrase echoes over and over in my mind.

I have something to say, and I will say it.

(I know that men are not always like this, so I’m sorry if it was offensive to anybody! It’s just that in my experience, men are put before women most times.)

I'm not very good at empathy.

I can't read the room and feel what nobody has spoken of.

I can see when somebody is sad,

but it's not like I can feel it.

    Of course, I can try.
