Just maybe not to stay.

Just in my own way.

I swear I always have been.

I promise you I’m hanging on

If by just a thread.

I promise you I’m sorry

For all the pain I’ve caused.

I promise you I’ll still be here

I’ll still be here tomorrow.

I promise you I’m fighting hard

Trying to win the war.

I promise you I know

How badly it would hurt.

I promise you I love you

That will never change.
