We were once inseparable

Until oceans came between us

Now some college boys live in your old house

No matter how many years have passed

I’ll always call it yours

And if I stare long enough through the window

I can convince myself you’re still here

I see your face as you wave at me from inside

No matter how many times I ring your doorbell

You’re never going to answer that door again

It’s been four years since you’ve answered the door

Now I’m parked in the driveway of your new house

As I ring your doorbell

You open the door

And we’re inseparable again.
