Inside of Us

The inside of everyone is two things:

Beautiful, like a flower in the woods.

And ugly, like the wars we choose to fight.

Yet, can't we find beauty in ugliness and ugliness in beauty?

So maybe, just maybe, those two things are just halves of one whole.

And I know, we need both those things to be us.

Without them, we're just empty shells.

Bodies going throughout our everyday lives.

So remember what's inside of you.

And make an effort to be kind.

Remember what's inside of us.

Inside of all of us.

  • Underwater

I wish I was underwater, my thoughts drowned out by silence.

    The world above me muted.

    The water cooling my skin.

Surrounded by that velvety liquid we call water.

    That miracle.

Oh, how I wish I were underwater.

  • Fairy Tale Girls

Girls in fairy tales, are always saved.

Why? Why can't they save themselves?

Why does Cinderella have to marry a prince to get out of her stepfamily's grasp?

Why do Sleeping Beauty and Snow White need a prince to wake them?
