She lit many lanterns,
Alongside the coast,
And cried as she raised them,
While missing your ghost.
The moon cloaked her tears,
So they’d shine as they’d fall,
And the ocean would rise,
To come carry them all.
She had beats in her heart,
That were twice her own size,
And she kept them as heavy,
As the day that you died.
Her body was still,
While her heart filled the sand,
As it otherwise dropped
From the palm of your hand.
She stood on the beach,
While her lanterns had flew,
And they shrunk as they left her,
The way you had gone too.
Their light left her eyes,
As you left her a host,
And she wanted to keep them,
But she needed you most.
