A Letter To My Old Self

Don’t tell someone you’re fine

When you know it’s all a lie

Don’t be afraid to tell them the truth

When they make you cry

It’s okay to be upset

When things don’t turn out right

But always remember

That hope is in sight

So take your scraped knees

And get back on that bike

Don’t be afraid to fall

Or you’ll never learn to ride

The journey is the hardest part

But I promise you it’s worth it

Never forget about hope

And how much you deserve it

The climb took time

And now I’m at the top

I learned some things the hard way

But chaos has come to a stop

So when the world falls apart

Right before your eyes

In the midst of tragedy

Hope will arise

Remember how much you’re worth

Never let others bring you down

Because the worst way to fall

Is from being pushed, only to drown

Always keep the friends

That stay for the worst

For they will always stick around

So forever put them first

I wish I had this advice

When I was young and small

So take advantage of it and live your life

Before life brings you to your downfall.

Our story always ends the same

No matter how many pages I turn

    In the end

    I’m the friend in need

And you’re the main character, always having to help me

I try to rip the pages out
