Memory to canvas

I wonder if that’s how Picasso really saw himself.
Deconstructed shapes and primary colors,
All meticulously placed in their seemingly correct
Spaces on that subliminal canvas.
I wonder if when he looked in the mirror,
He too watched his features float off his face
Then take shape into a patchwork portrait.
I wonder how he came to terms with this
And then made something beautiful out of it.
I’m still working on deciphering my reflection.
I wonder if I’ll come to terms with being a Picasso.
