Mother Earth

In the cradle of the galaxy’s abyss, we float

Born and aged through evolutions, revolutions

The Earth has been here, and we are passengers on a never ending journey in our orbit round the sun

If our ignorance is our weakness, it seems almost hypocrisy to say that our intelligence is our strength, so contradictory

We’ve come so far here in our home, and now we’re losing her,

Our mother who rocked us to life as our eyes opened and we awoke, and the sights to see were far and wide and so much to take in in our birth

There’s the forests, wide and far, a canopy of leaves to shelter us from rain.

The rivers, where round each bend there seems a new discovery

The oceans, a force to be reckoned with, peaceful and calm one day, to a wild storm the next

Deserts, unforgiving, yet life still finds a way there under the never ending horizon

The mountains, so mysterious, ominous, a presence in the distance beckoning travelers to explore

This Earth, with its wonders, is our home.

And a home we must be grateful for.

  • Dear Mother

    Dear Mother,

I have missed you these past few months.

    Where did you go?

I see you standing there, torch held high, yet you do not answer my calls.

  • What Does It Take to See?

What does it take to see the dandelions blooming in the spring, yellow manes bobbing in the wind?

What does it take to see the sun slanting through the windows, to hear the tree frog's chorus in the night?

  • A Tree

I talked to a tree just the other day, I was walking past and it did say,

    Well, what are you?

    Just a traveler.

    But what are you?

Why, a human, of course, you didn’t know?
