Mother's Tongue

I do not know if j'aime ma mère.

She is beautiful, she is strong
She is incredible

People love their mother tongue
I love anglais for that, but French holds a place

a place where l'amour pour ma mère once stood
It's not empty, just weakened

I love my mother, but do I like her?

I pretend I don't speak French,
I hide from my mother's tongue

I love my mother, but does she like me?

I love my mother's language,
but when I was little I loved my mother
and maybe she liked me
