My World

How do I see the world? I see a lot of bad things. That’s what the news likes to show us. There’s war, poverty, hunger, death, school shootings, plane crashes, and of course the looming threat of climate change. But, don’t get me wrong, the world isn’t perfect,  I also see a lot of beauty in the world. Blue skies, angry oceans, towering pines, deer skipping through the woods, butterflies landing on your finger. Holding your little brother’s hand, telling secrets with your friends, going for long walks. That was all there long before the founding fathers. And I think when the news feels like too much, that’s what we have to go back to. We look to the land and our relationships with people for comfort. And honestly, the founding fathers weren’t very nice people. They’re probably all pissed that their slaves and their daughters are in the positions they once held, proud of the white men for growing the economy, and angry that we haven’t yet waged war on Mexican immigrants, who they think are invading our country. But it doesn’t matter what they think. They are dead. Their perspectives are outdated. Ultimately, it is up to us, the young people, to form a vision for the future we want, and follow through to build it as we grow. Because this is our world.

  • Magic

Snow is the closest thing Earth has to magic.

Lift your face to the sky

    Feel the soft, chilly flakes

    melt on your tongue,

    float on your eye lashes,

    bring color to your cheeks.

Renee Good just wanted to go home

    To her kids

    6, 12, and 15

    I've watched the video

    I didn't want to

But I needed to see for myself if she really tried to run the agent over

    She didn't

I haven't opened the site for 5 months.

    I have a good reason.

    I promise.

I shipped myself to a New England boarding school?
