once we make it to the other side

i love spring

anyone who knows me knows that

i love how the butterflies swarm me

and the pixies make you cough

and how you can taste summer

in the sweet honeydew maple air

on the other side of autumn

where instead of a gleam of warmth

its a shiver of cold

the sun kissing the ground

and kissing me

the windows cracked open

spilling breeze into my hair

letting the soft hands braid it slowly

laying next to you

in our shorts and hoodies

laughing at something no longer funny

while the cherry blossoms take their last breath

and the business fades

as we burst into nothing
