paired up

They pair us up in groups;

It's funny we're stuck together.

We'll talk and meet up again,

You'll pretend like we're still forever.

This project takes a couple weeks;

I hope you put in the work,

And I'm not left on my own again.

Please don't act like I'm the jerk.

I'll talk to the teacher after class;

I'll tell him we can't be a pair.

I won't disclose how you broke me,

And how I act like you're not there,

But not because of this project,

But because I just don't care.

Your desperate eyes used to shatter

My heart in everyway;

When you glance at me in class

Now, I don't let my stare stay.

This project won't mean anything,

Even if they don't let us work alone.

If you try to control me with your sickly, sweeting words;

I can manage on my own.

  • i'll stay forever

    Every day, I sit and stare

    at you talking about what others consider nonsense.

    I'd call you a wordsmith,

    Staged-like words flowing off the tip of your tongue.

    I hunch in the corner of the group,

  • time and time again

    my heart was ripped apart in seconds

    and it only took a few hours to be stitched up again.

    those stitches won't stay

    just like I know you won't.

    you leave the conversations like deer,
