I close the windows

Lock the doors

Turn off the lights

I don’t ever want to leave this room.

I am tired of drowning

In a world

That has never prepared me to swim.

This world has taught me 

That peace can only be achieved 

If the power of love overrules the love of power.

They say, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

But peace is impossible

When those in power

Profit from war.

So I turn the music up high

To block out the sound of FOX News ringing in my ears

And I try to forget the world.
