I lay
cold and bitter in the snow
as the wind slowly trickles
from my head down to my toes
As my body is tense
And my arms are crossed
Acting as a shield from the harsh swirl of wind and nature
My legs have grown too tired today
to move any farther into this land of snow
And I am content staring at the clear sky as it twirls through my head
And twiddles with my mind
I don't seem to mind the frost climbing up toward my nose
I forgot it was there
Even if the world has been painted white
With a soft-powered layer of pain and ice
the sun still shines down on me
As I trace the clouds with my eyes
Creating a picture of blue and white
for my thoughts to explore
I lay there until the blue starts to mix with the orange
and the sun doesn’t shine so bright
Until the only noise left in these woods
is the screech of trees stretching from their skin
and my breath being heard for miles
