Poem 260

I saw you today

For the first time in months

It feels like I haven’t seen you in ages

I used to hope

We stayed apart

Never faltering too close to one another

But as I look into your eyes

I see the boy I once knew

Staring back at me

I know that boy’s gone

You’re remains of what he left

When his heart finally shattered

I miss the boy I loved so dearly

We were perfect

For months

I watched a piece of you slowly die

And as we fell apart

I knew he was gone forever.

  • peace is impossible

    I close the windows

    Lock the doors

    Turn off the lights

I don’t ever want to leave this room.

    I am tired of drowning

    In a world

That has never prepared me to swim.

  • August 2nd, 2025

There are ten days left until the first day of my freshman year,

    And I am fearful.

Fearful of drowning under the thrashing waves,

For I have been taught to survive

    but never to truly live.

  • Revival

    One day,

you will feel pain so excruciating it becomes abstruse. You will feel numb, detached from the world, lost in a void of darkness.
