Preserved Moments

Listen to the soft pattern

of rain drops falling onto the window pane

creating streams of water

that all end in a small puddle beneath the sill.

Feel the softness of a blanket

draped peacefully on the comfy chair,

each thread carefully hand woven

to create a sense of safety.

Smell the sweet scent of cocoa

steadily rising from a warm mug resting carefully on a side table,

filled with hot chocolate,

topped with marshmallows.

Watch as time passes us by,

as seconds fade into minutes

and minutes fade into hours.

And although time itself cannot be stopped,

while feelings turn into history,

moments turn into memories.

  • Detective Lives

Blood was splattered violently along the walls of a long, dark, cold, ally way. In the back left corner of it was two trash bins over flowing with garbage; untouched by any man for weeks.
